Commercial Waste
Every business has a 'Duty of Care' to dispose of their waste in a correct and responsible manner. This effectively means having a waste collection arranged with a Registered Waste Carrier or Local Authority. Alternatively, waste can be transported to an official Waste Transfer Station (See below). Failure to comply with your Duty of Care responsibilities could lead to an unlimited fine.
Business waste can not be disposed of at home, at Household Waste and Recycling Sites or Local Recycling Points. Waste collections are not provided through your Business Rate payments, collection facilities have to be set up separately.
Waste Management Officers
Periodically visit business premises to ensure proper waste management facilities are in place and are on hand to give advice on the law and how it applies to your particular business. For further help and information contact : 01892 602724 or email paul.thomson@wealden.gov.uk
