The Safer Wealden Partnership is renewing its commitment to reduce the levels of crime and anti-social behaviour in the district. Members of The Safer Wealden Partnership include the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, East Sussex Downs and Weald Primary Care Trust, Sussex Police, Wealden District Council and East Sussex County Council. The Partnership has two key themes: reducing the fear of crime and dealing with anti-social behaviour.
Every two weeks, partners from these organisations meet at a Joint Action Group (JAG), which deals with local problems and issues in a holistic way. Action is agreed and taken to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour where it is causing a problem. Due to the cooperation between the partners this action can often be more effective.
If you want to know more about the current levels of crime in the Wealden area can access a special web site called CADDIE which provides detailed statistical information.
